Marketing your company culture

8 great tips that help leverage your culture and attract lasting talent.

1. Create a recruiting video demonstrating your culture

  • Interview your current employees about what it’s like to work for you, with their team of co-workers, and speak about the culture. What is a typical day like? Have them share positive experiences.
  • Share the video on your online (website or hiring platform) and on social media channels.

2. Monitor reviews on job sites, your online business pages and social channels

  • Respond to negative comments in a professional manner. Remember, your response is still a reflection of your company and values.
  • Respond to positive comments thanking them for the great review or experience.

3. Ask current employees to leave reviews on job sites

  • Potential hires will often check these during their job search to better understand the company they are thinking of applying for and the experiences of the employees.

4. Highlight a team member via a blog post or through the social media company page

  • Promote employee milestones and anniversaries.
  • Highlight employee certifications or achievements.
  •  Share the hiring of new employees, their role in the company, relevant past experience, and value they bring to your company now.

5. Share team and individual photos of company experiences

  • Going to a show, event, or company gathering? Use your social media channels to share photos of the team.
  • Encourage team to share posts from the company page to their personal accounts to reach a larger audience.
  • Promote team-building as part of your culture by
sharing details and photos on social media or blog posts.

6. Get involved with the community

  • Share your involvement in local (and beyond) community outreach. Is there a charity or cause your company supports? Let people know how your company helps support those efforts and the impact it has on the community.

7. Promote volunteerism

  • Many companies are trending toward having a monthly or quarterly volunteer participation effort for employees. Allow them to choose where they spend their volunteer time and feature it on the blog and social media. What does this organization mean to the employee? How long have they been involved in volunteering there? Does this organization tie into a passion the employee has outside of work hours?

8. Create a popup on your website or feature a culture focused landing page

  • One of the first places people will go is your website when looking to learn about your company’s values and do more in-depth research.
  • Create a specific page about your culture (this is a great place to put in that new video from item #1). Use this page to tell them everything they might want to know about your company. You can also use this page to link across social channels to help increase traffic and awareness.
  • Use this page to direct them where to go to complete an application and what the typical hiring process is.
